Emmys Prep with HK + Christian Siriano
i liked this dress better when it was longer, you can see it with a fuller/longer skirt in the video above! How cool/fun is this process of getting dressed for such a posh event like this. I posted the video just as inspiration for me on some thing's i'm working on now and to push myself to finish "Dark Waters" and "White Sands"
Gweneth Paltrow in Emilio Pucci love the peek-a-boo upper mid drift.
Nina Dobrev looked absolutely gorgeous in this Donna Karan gown, she reminded me of a young Catherine Zeta-Jones

New Music Monday: "Wherever We Go" x E L H A E
I usually don't do a lot of music posts on my blog but I wanted to show some support to a local artist that I'm just totally digging right now:
Name: ELHAE
Genre: electro, hip hop, with some smooth R&B undertones
Why I dig him: because he is a truly refreshing local artist that's so relatable, honest and lyrically artful.
So check him out, this single that he just released off his forthcoming mixtape XXI is entitled "Wherever We Go"

NYFW SS-2012: Day 3
Jill Stuart's spring collection got my 3td day of fashion week off with a fashion sugar high; every piece was so sweet, delicate, and totally girlie. Flouncy dresses, shots of coral, washes of mint greens and shades of pink it was every girlie girl's dream of spring.
HELMUT LANG
OK so I CANNOT even express how much I LOOOOOOOOOOOVE HelmutLang!!!!!!! The black heart of the moody artist within me melted when I saw the grungy watercolor patters, slouchy pants, unkempt hair, MORE chunky heels + wedges, drapped sheers, all-BLACK ensembles, and asymmetrical straps/tank tops. I NEED everything in this collection..lol

NYFW SS-2012: Day 2
The Cynthia Rowley show was absolutely mesmerizing and not just because of the Gold runway which was absolutely beautiful!!! I loved the set design and the lighting design just as much as I loved the clothing, it was like watching a jewelry box come to life. The mix of some of the futuristic accessories like the sun glasses with the reflective lenses paired with the more tailored, lady-like dresses were right up my alley.
NICOLE MILLER
Nicole Miller was inspired by sunsets and the angles created when light hits the water. The result, an exuberant and joyous garments that had me smiling from ear to ear from the moment the first look walked the runway all the way until the end. Multicolored leggings, dresses with cut out blocks of color, flowing trenches with bright inset panels, neon pipping, and geometric patterns were the embodiment of this collection. This collection had me feeling like I was walkin' on sunshine :D

NYFW SS-2012: Day 1
Fashion week kicked off today with the oceanic inspired collection of Nicholas K. I wasn't to familiar with the brand but I instantly fell in love from the moment the first garment walked the runway. I loved the way the designers transitioned their color story from light to dark, with a smorgasbord of hues from whites, creams, khaki, muted roses, greys and blues it was simply divine. I think I may have been a little biased because the collection also reminded me of the pieces I'm working on for my dark waters collection (which totally warmed my heart). The mix of asymmetrical hems, mixed with layered sheers, chunky heels, and relaxed harem pants would be the perfect pairing to the pieces I'm making now and I love the juxtaposition of mixing relaxed fabrication with edgy construction. All in all a great start to the week's festivities
Up next was BCBGMAXAZRIA. I was happy to see that the color-blocking trend is still here to stay and it was a beautiful pairing with the light weight flowing fabrics of the dresses which were the epitome of "easy, breezy". Geometric shapes, modern tribal patterns, and high side splits were my favorite elements in this collection.
Lastly was Tadashi Shoji the collection began with the bright washes of color on structured cocktail dress that almost felt like a garden party and gradually moved into shimmering evening wear mixed with pleated sheer fabric and lace overlaying nude material
