I've always loved a mix of feminine and masculine elements when it comes to interior design. Moody wall colors, neutrals, and different combinations of textures for pillows adds tons of visual interest to any space as well! Lastly, never underestimate how much sex appeal great lighting to add to you space...especially in the bedroom. *wink wink* LOL

Orange Crush

I had planned to wait until the official album release of Frank Ocean's Channel Orange but I couldn't wait LOL...I mean really who was I kidding, as soon as all of my friends on twitter started talking/raving about it I had to download it from iTunes. Its quite fitting that I got it today since I'm working on a new Illustration to submit to UCE Magazine and I always like having new music to listen to while I work on new Ills. I'm about 4 songs in and I already love it like I knew I would. What I love most about Frank is his ability to tell a story and take the listener on a journey which is a dying artform in music especially in R&B...here's a track off the album called Pyramids, Frank released it a few weeks ago but I thought I would share it just in case you guys hadn't heard it yet, enjoy!

Mane Maintenance

I thought I would start the week off with a hair post since you guys seemed to love the beauty haul so much (which was really fun to put together might I add!). I've been trying to grow my hair out longer than it currently is and I thought by doing a post on my favorite hair products that it would not only motivate me to continue on my minimal and soon to be heat free diet for my hair and also answer a few questions that I frequently get about my hair.

FAQ 1. Do you have a relaxer?
Answer: I haven't had a relaxer in over 2 years, I currently use a flat iron to straighten my hair

FAQ 2. What products do you use on your hair?
Answer: See below :D

FAQ 3. How often do you wash your hair?
Answer: I wash my hair with shampoo once a week and I co-wash my hair once a week.


Here are the products I'm currently using and am in the process of ordering:


(products: Garnier's triple moisture shampoo, nutrition spray, and 3-Minute Undo mask. Organix Brazilian keratin therapy conditioner, Anti Breakage serum, Flat-Iron Spray and Coconut Milk Anti-Breakage serum)

These are the goods I use when I straighten my hair with my flat Iron. I love the Garnier triple moisture system because my hair has a tendency to get really dry since its so thick so it literally just soaks up all of the moisture it provides. I just started using the Organix Karetin line and so far I'm really liking the results, I completely addicted to the flat iron spray and the anti breakage serum and they smell divine!

These are the products I plan to buy and use for my hair when I wear it curly. I've heard a lot of great things about it from a friend who recently chopped 7 inches off of her hair and has already seen some amazing results in just 3 months. My plan is to go completely heat free for at least 3 months and just see how it goes. My hair has grown a lot in the past few months and I think it would grow even faster if I stopped using heat to straighten it. So I'll definitley keep you guys posted on my curls and the process/progress!! Wish me luck!!

Mariella Adore is an online accessories boutique that specializes in trendy, tough, and chic pieces that add a little punch to your wardrobe. I came across them through twitter and was compelled to do a feature on my favorite pieces. I love pairing things that are a little edgy and dark with vintage pieces (of my grandmother's jewelry) that I already have. I love spending holidays with my family and this outfit would be perfect for a day at the lake or firework watching at the park! I love feeling festive when dressing for a holiday but I don't want to look like I'm wearing a flag so I opted for the colors of the flag but spiced up with studs and softened with the top shop floral bralet. Happy Sunday guys and stay out of this heat! Wheeeeeeeew!
