I always love watching the Oscars my two biggest reasons are that the fashionista and computer animator/visual artist and techie get a HUGE kick out of it every year! I loved all the pale spring like colors of the gowns that I saw but my absolute favorite gown was Zoe Saldana's Givenchy couture gown.

I've heard all of the criticism but I don't care what anybody says i LOVED this dress. Everything about it made me giddy!! I thought the color, the sparkle, and the sculptural elements were beautiful and I loved the fact that Zoe took a chance.

Harlem Renaissance

The Harlem Renaissance has got to be one of my all time favorite periods in fashion, music, and art. Today I was inspired to conjure up a Harlem Nights/Renaissance look of my own for my grandfather's funeral as a nod to his and my grandmother's memory. Its been a hard week but the family is truly blessed to be able to celebrate such a great man.
