Helmut Lang A/W 2010

Today has been a pretty crazy/hectic day but I just wanted to stop by and share a few of my favorite pieces from the Helmut Lang A/W 10 Collection. All I can say is that it is minimalism magic!! I wanted every single look in the ad campaign, just beautiful, simple and elegant with a refined rock edge, I die!

Happy Monday folks!

Musing: Fall Foward

(images from the net, Cashmere and Cupcakes, Shopbop, Jcrew)

So today my thoughts kept floating off to the land of Fall clothing. Fall and Spring happen to be my favorite seasons of the year and I for one can't wait for Fall to get here. Until then I'll be dreaming of over-the-knee boots, furry vest, dark floral blouses, skinny cargo pants, wedge booties, leopard scarves, tapered pants and jewel tones! Hope you all are having a wonderful week!!!

Photography: A lil' bit of this a lil' bit of that.

Photography has been one of my favorite things to do ever since I was in High School. I think Black & White photography is so special to me because I originally learned photography the old school way, with a 35mil camera, film, paper, and a dark room. The dark room was one of my favorite places to be, I could spend hours in there processing film and hanging photo paper. Nowadays (said as if I'm ancient) everything is digital which is great because it speeds up the process greatly and takes some of the error out of taking a good photograph, but I must say there are days when I miss the being in the darkroom and watching one of my photographs magically appear on the paper as it floats in the processing chemicals...

My old Demo Reel

Animation part 1

Hey guys here are some of my old projects from my animation classes, I was feeling a little nostalgic since I haven't been able to animate in a very long time..lol..I really miss it. There's just something about being able to create a world with characters and stories and breathing life into it that is just beyond cool! Enjoy.

Project: The Factory
I've been working on this environment off and on for a year or so now,I designed it to be a factory with elements of a Cambodian temple and tree roots growing through it. A few years ago in my concept development class we had to come up with an environment that had the elements of two different civilizations represented in the environment. In my concept the civilization of the Temple came first, next the industrial civilization and then finally nature comes to reclaim both (hence the environment being taken over by the tree and its roots)

Project: Bo-Bo
Bo Bo is a character I created in my 2D animation class, I have no clue where the inspiration for the actual character design came from, I just sat down and started drawing in my sketchbook and he's what came out. LOL He's one of my weirdest characters and one of my favorites, he looks totally disturbing i've been told but his personality is that of someone who is extremely sweet and pleasing to others.

Project: La Llorona
This character is from my rigging class, she was created based upon mexican mythology, Dia de Los Muertos art, and some ads from my Vogue magazines

Chips Ahoy!

My projects for other people have slowed somewhat so in my off time I've been finding myself baking...A LOT. So today I thought I would bake off some of my homemade cookies for my mom sort of as a "just because" gift and she's a great tester for my recipes..LOL my future husband will thank her. I seriously had to stop myself from eating these, they were so good and might I add they even rival Panera's chocolate chip cookies which are also a crack of choice for me..lol I hope you guys are having an awesome day!!

Lock and Key process part 1

process part 1: line work and blocking

Bedroom Makeover: Moodboard

Hi guys! I hope everyone is having a great weekend!! Mine has been off to a busy start designing things for clients, finishing up color on some illustrations that were still in the "line work phase ("Lock and Key" and "Release Me") and looking for items to revamp my bedroom. Which brings to my why I posted this. As a designer/Artist its second-nature for me to plan or sketch out EVERYTHING so naturally I made a moodboard for my room. Moodboards are great because they give you a visual feel of how items, colors, patterns, and textures work together. It can be difficult to have an idea of how an entire room will look when all you have are bits of photos of things you like strewn about. It also saves you on time and money when you're decorating :) . Stay tuned I'll be posting "before" photos, furniture thrifting, and a Headboard DIY soon!
