Artful Additions

Adding art to a space is a great way to infuse shots of color, texture, and pattern into your home. Here are a some inspirational shots of homes featured in Lonny Magazine and Matchbook Magazine that show examples of how to group artwork when hanging them on your walls and how to coordinate your artwork with your home decor. If you can't afford a commissioned piece from an artist; try buying some prints from them or create your own. Take a day to play with blocks of color or use masking tape to create a pattern on your canvas, roll your desired hue on and then remove the tape to reveal a modern pattern. Its really simple and fast project that can be done one lazy day on the weekend.

Here's a tip: if tackling a large canvas intimidates you test out your design on a small piece of canvas or do a quick sketch of what you want on a piece of paper.
