Step Into My Office

shots of my studio/office

Oh Ms James how I love your style

Hello lovers, since I was down all week with my allergy/flu bug-thing-a-ma-jimmy I've been spending most of the night working on sketches of storyboards for a client that are due bright and early Monday Morning. I have studio space set up at my house HOWEVER I don't have a chair that supports my back which means I always end up sketching on my sofa..lol needless to say that brings me to the point of why I posted this quickie blog of office inspiration! I thought I would do a little musing of spaces while I took a break from drawing. I have come to the conclusion that when I buy a house I'll need two extra rooms for an office and studio space....or maybe I could find a really cool Mid-Century Modern house with a detached studio in the backyard...*sigh* *tilts head and looks up into the air as the daydream ensues*

Curl Me Baby!

Miss Jessie's Original world famous Curly Pudding is a "smooth operator" that transforms shrunken kinks to super shiny stretched out curls.

Apply a palm full of Curly pudding to damp freshly shampooed and conditioned hair. Rake through large sections and air dry. For maximum elongation comb a nickel sized dollop through small sections and air dry.

I had been looking for products to use on my hair so I could wear it curly more often so one of my besties suggested Miss Jessie's products. I haven't tried them yet but I love their site http://www.missjessies.com/ there's a host of tutorials, pictures and tips on how to get perfect, springy curls!! Check them out, Happy Curls Girls!!

Desert Storm and The Pilot

"Desert Storm"
this one is still a sketch but it will be on canvas soon ;)

"The Pilot"
I've been sketching and revising her for a little while trying to figure out how I want to treat her hair. She is apart of a body of work I've been conceptualizing for a while now. I've been working on so many things at once its hard to find time to paint and money for more supplies but its coming along slowly yet surely.

RIP Lena

I literally just heard of Lena Horne's passing today and I had to do a blog post about it. I won't go into a full history but I just wanted to post some old school photos of the Jazz great. Her grace, style, and beauty will be missed but her iconic legend will live on through her fans.
